Meet Lee Beers, MD

Lee Beers, MD, is a general pediatrician at Children’s National and the medical director of the Child Health Advocacy Institute. She received her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years.

Dr. Beers spends most of her free time driving her two kids to their sports practices and going to their games and meets. Both of her kids play soccer and basketball, and run cross country, and she tries to make as many of their games and meets as she can, so she’s on the side of a field or court a lot. She also loves to read, hike and jog.

“Ever since I was a very young child I knew I wanted to be a pediatrician. I have always loved taking care of children – first as a babysitter, then as a camp counselor and ultimately as a pediatrician. Now that I am an adult, I realize that what draws me to this work is a commitment to equity and the belief that every child has unlimited potential and deserves the very best.”
