Meet Fran Cogen, MD, CDE
Fran R. Cogen, MD, CDE, is the director of the Childhood and Adolescent Diabetes Program at Children’s National. Her clinical interest includes intensive insulin therapy and its effect on quality of life. She is dedicated to advocating for the needs of patients and their families in managing diabetes, and in 2007 was named as one of the “Best Doctors in America.”
In her free time, Dr. Cogen likes to take walks with her bichon frise, read British literature (Jane Austen) and current fiction, watch “Masterpiece Theater,” go to movies (especially science fiction), play ping pong and visit friends and family. She has a son who is working in Seattle as a pediatric pulmonologist.
